How do I know which panel length and height to buy for my bath?

Measure the visible bath apron from end to end for the length and from the floor to the top rim for the height. Common lengths in our range are 1700mm and 1800mm for full-length side panels, with matching end panels at 700mm, 750mm or 800mm; typical heights are 480–499mm, with some panels available at 550–599mm or 600–699mm for taller baths. If your bath is a standard 1700mm, a 1700mm side panel plus a 700mm end panel pack (1700/700mm) will usually match; if the measurements fall slightly short you can trim MDF panels to size.

What's the practical difference between MDF and MFC panels and which should you pick?

MDF panels are the most common here and are easy to trim to an exact fit, making them ideal if you need to adjust length or height on site. MFC (melamine-faced chipboard) is used for the grey wood-effect ranges and gives a tougher surface that resists wear and shows wood grain. If you want to tweak dimensions or prefer a smooth gloss or matt finish, MDF is a good choice; if you want a hard-wearing wood look that needs less finishing, go for MFC.

Do I need a side-and-end pack or can I buy just an end panel?

If your bath has one exposed side and an exposed end (most inset baths in a three-wall alcove do), a side-and-end pack like the 1700/700 or 1700/750 options ensures both panels match in finish and profile. Buy an end-only panel if you only need to replace or upgrade the short apron at one end, when the side panel is already fine. Packs from brands such as Artis and Park Lane also tend to simplify installation and styling because the pieces are made to pair.

Which finish should you choose — gloss, matt or grey wood?

Gloss grey gives a contemporary, reflective look that contrasts crisply with white sanitaryware and is shown across the Artis and Ceramica ranges; it suits modern bathrooms and makes the room feel brighter. Matt grey, such as the Park Lane Winchester dark grey, reads more subdued and suits traditional or period schemes by reducing glare. Grey wood-effect MFC introduces warmth and texture, perfect if you want a softer, natural feel next to white basins and baths.

What are tongue-and-groove or traditional profiles and when are they useful?

Tongue-and-groove panels have interlocking profiles that create a neat, continuous joint and are offered on some Ceramica and Park Lane ranges for a classic look. Traditional or Winchester-style panels have framed profiles and detailing that give a heritage feel, ideal for period bathrooms or if you want the panel to read as a feature. Pick tongue-and-groove or traditional profiles when you want visible styling as well as a tidy, robust join between side and end panels.
