Axial type fans cause gas to flow through in an axial direction which is parallel to the shaft where the blades rotate, making the flow axial at exit and entry. Axial fans are designed to create a pressure difference and force which produces a flow through the fan.
Humidistat & timer operated
These extractor fans are certainly the cleverest with the ability to operate using a timer or based on the humidity levels in the room. It is operated when humidity levels within the room get too high or when the light switch is used, with a timer continuing to run the extractor fan for a predetermined amount of time.
Zone 1 Rated
IP rating stands for 'Ingress Protection rating' and this helps us determine what bathroom electricals can go in particular bathroom zones. An IP (Ingress Protection) number or code is used here in the UK to specify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment. These ratings are determined by specific tests.
These extractor fans can be fitted within Zone 1 as shown below.
Recessed wall & ceiling installation
These extractor fans can be installed through a wall or recessed giving you that extra bit of flexibility. They can also be installed as portrait or landscape.
Additional information:
2 speed adjustment at installation
12dB noise levels (quieter than rustling leaves)
Extraction rate of 22 litres per second
IPX5 rated means the fan is protected from water jets that are projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) from any angle
Meets current Building Regulations Approved Document F and L
Suitable for wall, ceiling, window and panel mounting mounting
Used this to replace a broken 20 year old bathroom fan, installation was very plug & play with fixing positions and cabling in the same place. When I switched it on I had to double-check that it was actually running, it was so quiet. Performance seems good (it's only on low speed currently but seems to do ok).
One thing to be aware of is the requirement for access to both sides if the fan in order to remove the cover; mine's in a corner which makes this quite difficult.
Overall I can highly recommend this product.

I bought this to replace an existing Vent-Axia fan in a shower room. The wiring entry is reversed on this fan so I had to install it upside down (no biggie). I ran it initially on the low setting and found it ran virtually continuously. Once I switched to the high setting I managed to get the humidistat to operate correctly and turn off the fan but it took me several days of tinkering. It made a big difference if the shower room door was wide open or ajar. Leaving the door wide open worked consistently well. I use a Karcher window vac to clear the shower and tray - that helps speed things up.

Very good value from Plumbworld...30%+ cheaper than Screwfix. Delivered on time, and fitted easily...replacing same fan that only lasted about 3 years. Warranty is 2 years. Item is as described, works well and, despite what some others say, I found it to be very quiet. 4 Star due to dubious reliability. Plumbworld excellent service and price.
